Excellent food in a Lovely cozy environnement. Would definitely recommend. One star lost on the atmosphere simply because the lighting was much brighter than you would normally expect.

Memorable, hearty, tasty! If you are looking for a perfect combination of a small, family owned/run type of a French restaurant you MUST try this! This place, with its food and ambiance and service perfectly complements the very essence and feeling of walking in a medieval alley of a French town and enjoying a perfect local, heartwarming experience.
I had the Tartine Chorizo-chèvre avec le soupe à l’oignon for an appetizer. I then followed it with one of their house specialities: Tarti Fourme which has double cooked, roasted potatoes with bacon, fourme d’ambert - a wonderful local cheese - onions and a whole lot of savory warmth.
I paired it with their house red wine which was pleasantly light and had the right amount of acidity and character to marry the rich dishes with a mellow, mineral finish. It was the 2024 Saint Pourçain. (Side note: I tried the 2023 two nights earlier and it was truly satisfying however different from this one).
Much tempted as I was to complete this experience with a cheesecake basque or assiette de fromage, I opted for something a little lighter, a lemon and apple sorbet.

Dinner for two at Frencheese. We each had a starter, then shared a fondue. The food was good, and the fondue was generous and original (with cheeses from the Bourbonnais region). The service was very friendly. €56 for two without drinks; the price is perhaps a little high considering the complexity of the dishes. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely return to this restaurant.
